Wanted to share this out as a composite image from the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! er’s picture that was made on the FP story about the Baku GP street course.

It compared the virtual circuit tour to an actual picture of where T9 will be for the race. And wow.

Kinja'd!!!

Please don’t change that driving surface.

People have been saying this is going to be a boring race (and they probably aren’t wrong) but this turn alone is going to be worth watching it for.

Sad that they’ll probably need to irreversibly alter a historic site for this event to take place though.

That being said... I’m not, not excited.

Edit: the comment just got shared to Oppo from Black Flag, ah well at least you can see them side-by-side here.

So they’re going to pave over the cobblestone? That’s too bad. Would be nice to see the cars in an extreme low grip situation.

I have no idea but I hope they don’t either. I’m just looking at the YouTube rendering and they have. Lame.

I believe it’s the same kind of stuff they used for the Paris Formula E race - some kind of temp paving with a protective layer underneath that goes down over the cobbles and gets removed again afterwards.

I think someone said it’s already been paved? Also, it would completely tear out the underside of the vehicle.
